When customers look for a doypack machine, the most important question is usually not “What is the machine price?” The real question is: Can this machine run my product and my bag smoothly? This is especially important for customers who use stand-up pouches, zipper pouches, spout pouches, or special-shaped bags. A doypack packing machine may look simple from the outside, but whether it works well depends on the product, pouch, filling system, sealing condition, and packing requirement.
For example, nuts and snacks need correct weighing and smooth feeding. Coffee powder and spice powder need accurate auger filling and clean sealing. Sauce, honey, shampoo, and detergent liquid need the right filling pump and anti-drip filling design. Zipper bags need stable bag opening. Spout pouches and special-shaped pouches may need testing before shipment. This is why we do not recommend choosing a doypack machine only by looking at a photo or a standard quotation. Before recommending a machine, we need to understand your product, your pouch, and your production goal.

A real doypack packing solution usually starts from a customer’s product and pouch, not from the machine itself. One customer from colombia contacted us because they wanted to pack nut into stand-up pouch with zipper. Before contacting us, the customer used manual packing, but they faced several problems: low speed,high labor cost, difficult zipper opening.
At first, the customer wanted to know the price of a doypack packing machine. However, before giving a final recommendation, we checked the product condition, filling weight, bag width, bag height, zipper position, required speed, and factory voltage. After checking these details, we recommended horizontal doypack machine + multi-head weigher + z type elevator + working platform + date coder + finished product conveyor.
The reason for this configuration was clear. The customer’s product needed 300g/pouch, 20-25bags per minutes, accurate weighing, zipper opening, save labor cost, and the bag type required bag feeding, opening, filling, and sealing. If we only supplied a standard machine without checking these details, the customer might face problems after receiving the machine.
Before shipment, we tested the customer’s product and pouch. During the test, we checked whether the stand up pouch could be picked up , whether the zipper could be opened stably, whether the product could enter the bag without blocking or spilling, whether the sealing was firm, and whether the finished stand up pouch appearance met the customer’s requirement. After testing, we sent the running video and finished pouch photos to the customer for confirmation.
A doypack machine is not a single fixed solution for all products. The same main packer may need different feeding and filling systems according to the product. This is the main reason why product details must be confirmed before quotation.
Granule products are common in doypack packaging. Typical products include nuts, snacks, beans, seeds, rice, candy, frozen food, pet food, and animal feed. For these products, customers usually care about weighing accuracy, packing speed, product protection, and finished bag appearance.
A common packing solution is a doypack packing machine with a multi-head weigher, linear weigher, bucket elevator, working platform, date coder, and finished product conveyor. The weighing system controls the filling weight, while the doypack machine completes pouch feeding, opening, filling, sealing, and output. For food products, nitrogen filling can also be considered if the customer needs freshness protection. If the product is fragile, such as chips or certain snacks, the feeding and dropping height should be checked carefully.
Powder products need more careful confirmation because powder may create dust, affect sealing, or cause filling accuracy problems. Coffee powder, milk powder, flour, spice powder, protein powder, detergent powder, and chemical powder may all need auger filling, but their flowability can be very different. Some powders flow easily, some are sticky, and some create heavy dust.
For powder doypack packaging, we usually recommend a horizontal doypack machine with an auger filler and screw elevator. If the powder is dusty, dust control or anti-dust design may be needed. If powder remains near the bag mouth, the sealing area may become dirty, which can affect sealing strength. Therefore, in powder packing solution, we pay attention not only to filling accuracy but also to clean filling and firmly sealing.
For difficult powders, sample testing is very useful. A testing video can show whether the powder enters the pouch smoothly, whether dust is controlled, and whether the finished pouch can be sealed properly.
Liquid and viscous liquid products require another type of solution. Sauce, honey, jam, ketchup, oil, shampoo, detergent liquid, gel, and paste products usually need a pump filling system. The pump type depends on product viscosity, filling volume, temperature requirement, and whether the product contains particles.
For low-viscosity liquid, one filling system may be suitable. For thick sauce, honey, or paste, another pump or tank design may be required. Some products need heating or mixing. Some products need an anti-drip filling nozzle to prevent the bag mouth from becoming dirty. For liquid and paste packaging, clean filling and strong sealing are critical, because a dirty sealing area can cause leakage or poor package appearance.
Many customers focus on the product but forget that the pouch itself is also a key factor. Before confirming a doypack machine, we need to check the bag width, bag height, bottom structure, zipper position, spout position, material thickness, opening condition, and whether the bag can be picked and opened automatically.
Stand-up pouches are widely used because they are suitable for snacks, coffee, nuts, pet food, powder, sauce, detergent, and many other products. If the customer already has stand-up pouch samples, we can check the size and opening condition before recommending the machine.
Zipper pouches are popular for coffee, nuts, snacks, pet food, powder, and other retail products that consumers may open and close repeatedly. However, zipper bags need more attention because the zipper position can affect bag opening. If the zipper cannot be opened smoothly, filling may fail or product may spill outside the pouch. For zipper pouch projects, we suggest sending bag samples or clear bag opening videos.
Spout pouches are often used for liquid, sauce, puree, detergent, and similar products. Because the spout position and bag structure can affect bag feeding and positioning, some spout pouch projects may need customized confirmation. Special-shaped pouches can improve brand recognition, but they may also create more difficulty in automatic bag feeding and opening. So physical bag testing is much more reliable than only checking photos.
How does a doypack packing machine work?
A doypack packing machine uses premade pouches. It automatically picks up the empty pouch, opens it, fills the product, seals the pouch, and outputs the finished package. According to the product, it can also add coding, zipper opening, nitrogen flushing, air exhaust, check weighing, or metal detection.
What affects the packing speed of a doypack machine?
Packing speed depends on product type, filling weight, bag size, bag material, zipper structure, filling system, and sealing time. Granules may run faster than sticky paste or dusty powder. Large bags, zipper bags, liquid products, and extra functions may reduce the final speed.
What pouch materials can be used on a doypack machine?
The machine can usually work with laminated film, plastic film, aluminum foil bags, and other flexible packaging materials. The pouch should have suitable stiffness, thickness, opening condition, and sealing performance. For new or special materials, we suggest testing bag samples first.
Is it difficult to change different bag sizes on the same machine?
One machine can usually handle different bag sizes within its designed range. When changing bag size, the operator may need to adjust the bag magazine, grippers, opening position, filling position, sealing position, and touch screen parameters. If the size difference is too large, another machine or a customized machine may be needed.
Can the machine pack both powder and granules?
The main doypack machine may be similar, but powder and granules need different filling systems. Granules usually use a multi-head weigher, linear weigher, or cup filler, while powder usually uses an auger filler and may need dust control. The final solution will be a granule filling system, a powder filling system+main doypack machine
Can nitrogen flushing or air exhaust be added?
Yes. Nitrogen flushing can be added for food products that need better freshness protection, such as snacks, nuts, coffee, or dry foods. Air exhaust can help reduce air inside the pouch before sealing. The final effect depends on product type, pouch structure, filling volume, sealing quality, and speed.
Can a doypack machine print date or batch code on the pouch?
Yes. A date coder or thermal transfer printer can be added to print production date, expiry date, batch number, or simple information on the pouch. Before choosing the coding system, we need to confirm the printing position, pouch material, printing content.
